Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
In plain language: our calculators run in your browser, and the wage figures you type in are never sent to us. We collect an email address only if you choose to submit one. We use analytics to see how the site is used. And because LegalCalcHQ is supported by advertising, our ad partners set cookies on your device to personalize and measure ads — which, under California law, counts as “sharing” of personal information. You can opt out of that sharing at any time; see below.
What we collect
- Email address: only if you submit one using an “email me my results” form, along with a summary of the calculation you ran.
- Calculator inputs: the numbers you type into a calculator are stored in your own browser's localStorage. They are never transmitted to our servers. You can clear them using a calculator's “Clear All” button or your browser's own settings.
- Usage analytics: anonymous, aggregated usage data via Google Analytics 4, such as page views and events like “calculator used.”
- Advertising data: our advertising partners, including Google AdSense and any successor ad network, collect device and browsing information via cookies and similar technologies in order to serve and measure ads on this site.
Advertising and cookies
LegalCalcHQ runs display advertising to stay free to use. Our ad partners, including Google AdSense, use cookies and similar technologies to personalize the ads you see and to measure how they perform. You can read Google's “How Google uses information from sites that use our services” policy for details on how Google itself handles this data.
If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we show a consent banner (our Consent Management Platform) before setting any non-essential analytics or advertising cookie, and we integrate Google Consent Mode v2 so ad and analytics storage only activates once you consent.
To opt out of or manage ad personalization, you can: reopen our consent banner and change your choice, use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer of every page, adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, or visit Google's Ads Settings.
What we do NOT do
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not sell your data for money.
- The numbers you enter into a calculator are never sent to our servers.
How we use your email
If you submit your email address, we use it to send you the calculator results you requested and, if you opt in, occasional related updates such as new calculators or state law changes. You can unsubscribe at any time.
How long we keep it
- Email addresses: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Analytics data: retained per Google's retention period.
- Calculator inputs: live only in your browser until you clear them.
Children
LegalCalcHQ is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your rights under the GDPR (UK/EEA)
If you are located in the UK or the EEA, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Our lawful basis for processing your email is your consent; our lawful basis for advertising and analytics cookies is also your consent; our lawful basis for basic site operation is legitimate interest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email admin@legalcalchq.com.
Your rights under the CCPA/CPRA (California)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of the “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, but our use of advertising cookies may constitute “sharing” under the CPRA. You can opt out of that sharing at any time using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer of every page — which also honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals from your browser — or by emailing admin@legalcalchq.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update this page and the date at the top.
